Letters of 2020-21

What moved us to create?
'2020-2021 hasn't been an ordinary year by any definition. We spent the last two years watching from, waiting from, and working across windows. And when history is written, it will document only the most crucial details, not the little things we experienced everyday. Headlines might even be edited to suit political agendas. But these two years will forever be chapters in our stories, and everyone’s story will be different. We have very little control over what future generations will know of these years, but as artists we can document the little things, the way we experience them. Just like we read war poetry and admire age old art, a generation will look back at what we leave behind and know of a time they did not live in. As we soon come to the end of 2021 it’s important to look back before we look forward. With the series ‘Letters from 2020-2021’, we capture the things that made it what it was, through the different ‘letters’ of the alphabet, and through ‘letters’ of the written word.
Thank you!
